Own Concert Productions

The Indian Choral Ensemble (TICE) has redefined what it means to experience choral music in India. Far from being just performers, TICE takes pride in actively curating and producing its own concerts — immersive, one-of-a-kind experiences that consistently play to house-full audiences.

Each concert is conceived as a world of its own: a two-hour journey through an original choral repertoire presented by 40 versatile singers and a live band. True to its spirit of innovation, TICE explores both amplified and unamplified settings — at times filling the stage with harmony, at other times scattering voices among the audience to blur the line between performer and listener.

With every production, TICE strives to push the boundaries of what a choir can be, experimenting boldly with original repertoire, innovative staging and concept-driven storytelling, establishing itself as one of the country’s most groundbreaking ensembles, creating some of the most unforgettable live acts on the Indian stage.

Ula

 – Museum Theatre, Chennai (3 Aug 2024)

“When the stage disappeared and the music surrounded you.”

A groundbreaking unamplified production where singers were scattered among the audience, dissolving the traditional divide between stage and listener. Their positions were dynamically planned to give every section a unique sonic experience throughout the 90-minute set. With two back-to-back house-full shows, Ula reached nearly 1000 people and redefined how choral music could be experienced.

Echoes & Dreams

– Madras Literary Society, Chennai (4 Jan 2025)

“A 90-minute uninterrupted journey of sound inside a historic library.”

Another completely unamplified show, this time staged at the iconic Madras Literary Society, a heritage building famous for hosting several Tamil feature films, including Mani Ratnam’s Mounaragam. The concert featured two back-to-back shows to an intimate audience. With a continuous, non-stop 90-minute set performed without interruptions for applause or announcements, the audience was carried into a meditative realm of pure sound.

Ulaa Pogum Neram

 – Medai (Chennai Art Theatre), Chennai (11 June 2023)

“When Music itself walked on stage to tell its story.”

TICE’s very first self-produced concert, in partnership with the Chennai Art Theatre (CAT). Performed across two intimate shows with limited seats, the repertoire unfolded in a storytelling format where a theatre artist played the personified character of Music. Through this narrative, the songs flowed seamlessly into one another without formal announcements, creating a larger story in which music itself became the protagonist. This debut set the tone for TICE’s immersive, concept-driven productions.

Educational Outreach

TICE is as passionate about nurturing voices as it is about performing on stage. Actively engaged on the educational front, the ensemble conducts workshops on vocal training, choral techniques, and ensemble performance. These interactive sessions provide singers with practical tools to refine their craft, while also sharing TICE’s distinctive approach to sound, harmony, and expression. Through this, the ensemble hopes to inspire and equip a wider community of musicians, strengthening and expanding the choral movement in India.
